The seminar will bring together a group of 12-15 active volunteers from Germany and the Balkans, in order to exchange ideas and experiences on the main topic as well as to further educate, train & empower them with methods how to develop and implement self-conceived awareness-raising and educational workshops on peace issues.
Besides that, the training will also provide the opportunity to exchange views on current developments in Germany and the Balkans and also have some fun together.
Main topics: Peace, conflict resolution, human rights’ violations (stereotyping, prejudice, discrimination, sexism, homophobia, romaphobia, anti-Semitism, islamophobia, xenophobia etc.)…
Recruitment of participants
All participants selected for this project must meet the following criteria:
- be 18 years old or older
- be able to work in English language
- be interested in the training topics and have strong motivation to act as multiplier in the field of promoting peace work;
- preferably have nomination and support (and if possible have been prepared for the project) of the sending SCI branch or Partner organisation;
- commit to implement the learned knowledge and skills in practice back home;
- commit to report thoroughly the content of the project to other activists of sending organisation;
- commit to actively participate
Please note that there will be opportunities to visit the city, but that this is not a “getting to know Berlin’s night-life” project.
Financial and practical conditions of participation:
All essential costs of the programme in Berlin (including food, accommodation and training) will be covered by SCI-D.
The volunteers cover their travel expenses.
The registration fee for participants from Germany is 50 €.
