2-day workshop at Brick Factory during Manifesta
19. – 20.8.2022
We are looking for 10 young people from anywhere in Kosovo who are interested in traditional and eco-construction, and who would like to get skills in carpentry.
This workshop is also part of Manifesta 14 and will take place at the Brick Factory in Prishtina, on 19th and 20th August from 15:00 to 19:00. The workshop language will be English.
During this workshop we will build an environmentally friendly version of a toilet – the compost toilet, perfect solution for human waste, does not pollute drinkable water and produces hummus for plants. This demontrational ecological composting toilet will stay at the Brick Factory for future use.
During this workshop participants will:
- Learn about the basics of traditional carpentry
- Use manual tools such as plane and chisel, make tenon & mortise technique
- Build an amazing composting toilet! Using natural materials and traditional skills
The facilitator will be Alexandre Cornet – passionate natural builder who came to Kosovo from France 4.5 years ago for volunteering and stayed because of natural building.
If you are interested in taking part in the traditional carpentry weekend workshop, fill in this application form by 13th of August. We will inform you about the selection and send you the info sheet by 14th of August.
Participants are expected to take part in the sessions on both days. Once you are selected, please take it seriously and don’t cancel your participation.
