Soup for the Soul: Uniting Cultures at the Festival della Zuppa in La Città dell’Utopia
As a member of the ESC team, my journey in La Città dell’Utopia began with a sense of anticipation and purpose. Arriving in Rome, I was greeted by the lively energy of the city and the promise of meaningful engagement in the Festival della Zuppa. Stepping into the bustling streets, I embarked on a mission to contribute to the cultural tapestry of this vibrant event. With a spirit of dedication and enthusiasm, I embraced the opportunity to play a role in organizing and facilitating the festival, eager to immerse myself in the rich experiences that awaited.
Our two weeks were filled with a multitude of experiences that brought us closer together as a team and enriched our connection to the community. From cooking sessions where we shared recipes and techniques from our respective cultures to collaborative gardening. As we worked side by side, planting seeds, chopping vegetables, and stirring pots, we forged bonds that transcended language barriers and cultural differences. Beyond our hands-on involvement in the preparation of the festival, our role as organizers allowed us to engage with various aspects of event coordination. From flyering and postering in the streets of Rome to the logistical challenges of bringing together a diverse array of participants and ensuring that every aspect of the festival ran smoothly.
